I have been an insurance agent for over 20 years now and have met some great people.
Insurance agents get a bad rap for being pushy salesmen so why did I become one? My first job was a delivery guy at the local drug store. This store also sold jewelry. What a combination right? It wasn’t long before I discovered that I had a natural talent as a salesman. It wasn’t a technique that I used or learned but just a gift of being able to talk to people. Years later when the opportunity arose to join an insurance agency, I jumped at the chance.
People are so interesting. Everyone is unique and everyone has a story. I enjoy getting to know more about people and ultimately building a relationship. That is something that makes an insurance agent different from any other sales job. You cannot use the high pressure sell because the client will feel regret as soon as they walk out the door and will not be your client very long. You want your customer to be happy and have the peace of mind that their agent is looking out for their best interest.
I have been an insurance agent for over 20 years now and have met some great people. I have built some great relationships and look forward too many more years in this business. For those of you that think this business is boring, check back for future blog post as I share some of my un-boring stories from my years in the business.
